THE EFFECTS OF BIO-CLIMATIC FACTORS ON THE PHENOLOGY AND MORPHOLOGY OF ISATIS GLAUCA SPECIES

Environmental factors have an important role in regulating the phenology of plants, especially the temporal period of plant life cycle events such as flowering or bud opening. Although plants usually repeat their phenological cycle once in the same vegetation year, in some plant groups, the phenological cycle may repeat itself within the same vegetation period. However, it is known that there is no differentiation in the existing morphological features of the plant during these repetitions. However, in the herbarium studies carried out, morphological differentiations were detected during the repeating phenological cycle in the same year in a population of the Isatis glauca species. In order to determine the reasons for this morphological differentiation, field studies were carried out on the relevant population of Isatis glauca at different periods and samples were collected. In addition to the related population, different populations of Isatis glauca in herbaria were also morphologically examined and morphological differences were determined. In addition, in order to determine the effect of bio-climatic parameters on morphology, Principal Component Analysis was carried out by using bio-climatic parameters of the habitats of different populations of the Isatis glauca species and the habitat preference of the populations were compared with each other. As a result, only simple hair was observed in the early period individuals of the Yeşilköy population, which is warmer and drier than the other populations, while stellate hair was observed in the late period individuals.
