The leachate from the landfills of Kocaeli city is treated by membrane bioreactor (MBR) method and nanofiltration concentrate is emerged in this system. Although the nanofiltration concentrate is managed by pumping the leachate to the landfill area, as the time passes this leads to an increase in the pollution load of the leachate coming to the treatment plant, which leads to a more difficult treatment of the inlet leachate. In this study, the nanofiltration concentrate of MBR facility was investigated by adsorption method by using a 100 mm diameter and 110 cm height activated carbon column. In the experimental study, 20% COD removal was achieved at 3,7 bar, 11,8 lt/h flow rate and flow velocity of 1,5 m/h. In order to increase the adsorption capacity, experiments were conducted with various pH values and different adsorbents.
