Abstract

The importance of logistics in the world is becoming more and more essential day by day. The road transport activities, which are a significant part of logistics operations are operated with van, trucks and tractor-semi trailer combination vehicles.These vehicles are the most popular vehicles which are used by the logistics due to their high loading area capacity. In parallel with the requirements, the increase in the number of vehicles which are traveling on the highways causes an increase in the risk of accidents.While significant progress has been made in some countries in the past decade in terms of improving road safety, the overall global consequences are far worse and vital changes are urgently required to reduce global road accidents and injuries. Globally, road traffic accidents are the leading reasons of accidental deaths. Road traffic accidents are responsible for more than 1.3 million deaths each year. For non-fatal injuries the estimation range is from 20 million to 50 million. In order to reduce the death rates that occur when an automobile hits the heavy commercial vehicle from behind, Regulation 58.03 level has been published. As a result of the analysis, the critical points to be considered in the design have been determined and the final design has been tested according to the new test forces specified in Regulation 58.03 and its suitability has been proved.
