ORNAMENTAL PLANTS IN THE ŞANLIURFA NATURAL FLORA

Abstract

The metropolitan and city municipal administrations, many public and sector organizations do not find suitable ornamental plants for their settlements, they do not recognize the ornamental plants that can adapt to their ecological and climate, these plants deteriorate and lose their aesthetic appearance in a short time. Therefore, appropriate samples should be selected that adapt to the soil and ecological requirements of the area. Producing ornamental plant samples that do not fit into the local area causes wasted time, labor and monetary losses. The purpose of this research is to identify and reveal ornamental plant species that comply with the ecological desire of natural plants that have Şanlıurfa Metropolitan. In this research, between 2017 and 2018, at pre-determined areas at suitable vegetation times, plants were identified and photographed samples were taken and numbers were given. At the end of this research, a total of 48 sample plants were identified. 36 species of these samples are found in the natural flora of Şanlıurfa and 13 taxa are exotic species
