Abstract

The new material obtained by combining two or more materials at macro level to create a more suitable material that can show the desired properties is called composite material. By producing composite materials, features such as high strength, lightness, high rigidity, wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity and aesthetic appearance can be achieved. Nanocomposites are a new class of materials that contain at least one filler size in the nanometer range. Polymer nanocomposites offer functional applications in addition to mechanical enhancement for load bearing applications. In the different composite systems studied, nanocomposites lead to excellent physical properties as well as conductive and mechanical performance.
Determining how nanoparticle reinforcement will affect carbon fiber epoxy pipes is a very important development for today's technology. In this study, pure epoxy (without nanoparticle reinforcement) produced by fiber winding (filament winding) method, 0.3% by weight KNT reinforced, 0.5% by weight BN reinforced, 0.3% by weight KNT + 0.5% by weight BN reinforcement There are carbon fiber epoxy pipes. Fracture toughness test has been applied to these nanoparticle reinforced composite pipes with the Charpy impact tester.
The Charpy impact test is used on metals compared to other materials, but can also be applied to composites, ceramics and polymers. With the Charpy test, we can evaluate the relative strength of the materials. However, it is used as a fast, economical and efficient quality control device. In practice, test the composite material against impact tests, a test process was carried out and fracture toughness was tested throughout these processes.
Also, in this paper, the damage mechanism caused by the Charpy experiment on the material was observed within the scope of the research. With this study, it is aimed to produce a composite material with superior mechanical properties and a new source in the literature.
