EVALUATION OF LEFT VENTRICULAR FUNCTION BY TISSUE DOPPLER ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY IN PATIENTS WHO CAME TO OUR CLINICO

Objective: There are very few studies on myocardial tissue velocities in animals. In our study, it was aimed to determine the systolic and diastolic tissue velocities of the left ventricular posterior wall, interventricular septum and mitral annulus in healthy animals. Methods: 25 male and 20 female animals included in the study were in normal sinus rhythm. Standard and tissue Doppler programs of Mindray and Philips echocardiography devices were used. The standard echocardiographic assessment consisted of two-dimensional, M-mode and Doppler echocardiography. Results: Systolic myocardial velocity by tissue Doppler parameters of these patients are detailed transthoracic echocardiography (Sm), early diastolic velocity (em) and late diastolic velocity (Am), septal and lateral regions were measured. Tissue velocities were recorded from the left ventricular posterior wall and interventricular septum, basal and middle segments. In addition, tissue velocities were obtained from the lateral and medial mitral annulus. Systolic, early and late diastolic tissue velocities were recorded in each segment. The highest myocardial velocities in all segments were detected in early diastole. Conclusion: It was determined that there was no effect of gender on tissue Doppler velocities in animals. There was no significant correlation between the shortening fraction of the left ventricle and tissue velocities. Tissue Doppler studies in animals can also be used in the evaluation of animals with ventricular dysfunction.
