EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTS OF SELF-LIGATING BRACKETS ON THE ORTHODONTIC TOOTH MOVEMENT

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı kendinden bağlamalı bir braket (Gemini SL) ile konvansiyonel bir braket (Gemini) kullanılarak yapılan kanin distalizasyonunun miktarını ve diş hareketi üzerine olan etkisini karşılaştırmaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada premolar diş çekimi ile sabit ortodontik tedavi gereken bireylerden SLB grubu (18 birey) ve CONT grubu (15 birey) oluşturuldu. Seviyeleme ve sıralama tamamlandıktan sonra 0,019×0,025 inch paslanmaz çelik tel üzerinde 150 gr kuvvet uygulayan NiTi kapalı yaylar ile kanin distalizasyonu yapıldı. Model ve fotoğraf kayıtları distalizasyonun 1., 4. ve 8. haftalarında alındı. Elde edilen alçı modeller üç boyutlu model tarama cihazında tarandı. Kanin distalizasyonu, distopalatinal rotasyonu ve devrilmesi ile birlikte molar mesializasyonu ve çekim boşluklarının miktarı ölçüldü.
Bulgular: SLB ve CONT grubu kıyaslandığında üst çenede kanin distalizasyonu, distopalatinal rotasyonu, tippingi ve çekim boşluğu miktarları açısından istatistiksel olarak önemli bir farklılık bulunmamışken, molar mesializasyonunda anlamlı fark görülmüştür. Alt çenede üst çeneden farklı olarak kanin tipping değerlerinde anlamlı fark saptanmıştır.
Sonuç: Kendinden bağlamalı braketler ile konvansiyonel braketler arasında ortodontik diş hareketi hızı açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark izlenmemiştir.
