Abstract

Used in the field of mental health and psychiatric nursing, simulation has become a practical method for teaching therapeutic communication skills, critical thinking, clinical decision making, and problem solving.

It is thought that different simulation techniques commonly used in mental health and psychiatric nursing education, such as standardized patient simulation, high-reality mannequin simulation, virtual reality simulation and voice simulation, will contribute to the development of communication skills. This review was conducted to review the simulation methods used in the development of communication skills in mental health and psychiatric nursing education.
