Abstract

It is inevitable that assets and systems will change positively or negatively over time, with or without awareness. Occupational health and safety studies, which all sectors must include, must be constantly updated and kept dynamic by keeping up with these changes and taking advantage of the conveniences brought by technology. Revolutionary changes in the business world, especially in industry, have also affected occupational health and safety practices. Various practices, legal regulations, awareness-raising trainings, etc. aimed at the needs of the current period. The cases were discussed within the scope of occupational health and safety. In this study, the change in the labor market is discussed together with the industrial revolutions that took place in the historical process and the occupational health and safety studies that took place simultaneously with these revolutions. Today, the relationship between the changing labor market and technological developments and occupational health and safety is constantly evolving under the influence of the dynamic nature of the business world. Changes in the labor market can have direct impacts on employee safety. In this context, factors such as automation, flexible working, digitalization and remote working should be taken into consideration to evaluate the effects of the changing labor market on occupational safety and health.
