INVESTIGATION OF THE TREND TOWARDS HYBRID AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN TURKEY

Considering the increasing number of vehicles in Turkey, and their impact on the environment, it has been observed that the quality of life is decreasing. In this case, the efforts for improvement in automotive sector have accelerated. Tendency for environment friendly electric and hybrid vehicles has increased by desisting from petroleum-derived fuels. In this study, the reflection on sales market of tendency for hybrid and electric vehicles in Turkey was searched, and it was intended to examine the change in years of number of hybrid and electric vehicles within the scope of findings obtained. An evaluation was made by addressing the factors affecting the sales of hybrid and electric vehicles. According to the data obtained from Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), an increase is being observed in the sales of hybrid vehicles. In the light of the findings, it was observed that the sale of hybrid and electric vehicles is gradually increasing by the subventions, and awareness of the users.
