Welded joining method is one of the most important operations of the manufacturing sector today. These operations differ depending on many variables. The aim of this study is to implement the DP-GMAW method -on which a small number of studies have been carried out until today - on AA 5083 series aluminum material frequently used in automotive and similar sectors. In order to analyze and compare these two merging methods; two different thicknesses as 4.5 mm and 8.1 mm, aluminum materials AA 5083, and two different PA (flat) and PB (horizontal vertical) welding position varieties were handled. In tests and examinations to observe welding structures and mechanical properties, they were analyzed in seven different methods as destructive tests and non-destructive tests. In non-destructive examinations; four different tests were applied as follow; post-weld temperature measurement, post-weld distortion measurement, visual testing (VT-visual testing) and radiographic testing (RT-radiography testing). In destructive examinations; five examinations were conducted as follow, macro test, tensile test, bend test, microstructural examination and micro hardness test. At the end of this study, P-GMAW and DP-GMAW methods were analyzed comparatively under different conditions, and in which cases the DP-GMAW method would be advantageous was examined.
