Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the performance of Wheat genotypes under the ecological conditions of Sivas. In the research, the agro-morphological characteristics of wheat genotypes with different origins were evaluated, and it was aimed to identify genotypes exhibiting high adaptation capacity as well as superior yield and quality traits under regional conditions. Important agronomic traits such as plant height, spike length, number of grains per spike, grain weight per spike, thousand-grain weight, biological yield, grain yield, harvest index, heading time, and maturity period were examined in detail. The obtained data were evaluated using analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and multivariate statistical methods, and the similarities and differences among genotypes were determined. In addition, the relationships among genotypes were evaluated using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and UPGMA cluster analysis, and significant variations were identified in terms of yield and yield components. The results revealed that some genotypes showed better adaptation to the ecological conditions of Sivas and exhibited higher yield potential. The findings obtained from this study are expected to contribute significantly to the development of new wheat cultivars suitable for the region, the effective utilization of genetic resources, and future studies in the field of Plant Breeding.
